Horyzont dzieli obraz na dwie połowy. Postać chłopki znajduje się w jego dolnej - ziemskiej części, ale jej ręka sięga ku niebu. Obowiązki i ograniczenia przesunięte zostały na dalszy plan. Pies pilnuje by tam pozostały:) Ten moment należy tylko do niej. Wokół rozciąga się bezkresna przestrzeń. Wśród ograniczeń, obowiązków, codziennej rutyny jest wolna.
To właśnie to poczucie wolności i bezkresnej przestrzeni zachwyca mnie w tym obrazie najbardziej. I oczywiście - kontrowersyjne za czasów Chełmońskiego - gołe stopy! Wyeksponowałam je w swojej interpretacji na pierwszym planie pokazując postać w dużym skrócie perspektywicznym. Jej wzrok sięga poza kadr obrazu. Do takiego ujęcia zainspirował mnie widok córki - podróżującej w wyobraźni wraz z chmurami obserwowanymi przez okno dachowe. Praca ma charakter szkicu malarskiego.

Indian summer
The horizon divides the painting into two halves. The peasant's figure is in its lower - earthly part, but her hand reaches up to the sky. Obligations and restrictions have been moved to the background. The dog makes sure that they remain there :) This moment belongs only to her. Endless space extends around. Among the restrictions, responsibilities, daily routine she is free.
It is this sense of freedom and boundless space that delights me in this picture the most. And of course - controversial in Chełmoński’s time - bare feet! I exposed them in my interpretation in the foreground showing the character in a foreshortening perspective. Her eyes reach beyond the frame of the picture. This composition was inspired by the view of my daughter - traveling in the imagination with the clouds observed through the roof window. The work is a painting sketch.
